The Millennial Theatre Company, founded in April of 2016, aims to produce excellent theatrical experiences while focusing on the involvement of the Millennial Generation. The founders struggled to find theatre organizations that appreciated the ideas and involvement of the millennial generation, so they decided to create their own company: a company that could serve not only those in the millennial generation but also the rest of the local theatrical community. The Millennial Theatre Company is proud to support the idea of non-traditional casting. Their first production, Heathers the Musical, took place in July of 2016 at The Akron Civic Theatre. Other productions include original Millennial-written works (Nothing or All; A New Musical and The Blame Game at The Rust Belt Theatre Company) and family-friendly, intergenerational productions (The Little Mermaid at Kent Trumbull Summer Stock), and cult musicals (The Last Five Years with The Hopewell Theatre and Carrie the Musical with the Oakland Center for the Arts). They also focus on extending the educational component of theatre by offering theatre classes, workshops, improv nights, masterclasses, and more! If you would like additional information on MTC, including audition and performance information, please send a message on our contact page, and you will be assisted shortly. Thank you for supporting the arts and the Millennial Generation!
